Join The GREYSTONE Collective for the closing reception of Indelible ORIGINS | Place + People: Why WE Are Here, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Chicago-based artist, maker, and educator Aidan Anne Frierson.
In a new body of work that combines elements of cotton, metal, clay, and writing in a form of cryptic self-portraiture, Frierson uses cotton as a vessel to physically process what is lived and what is felt. They reflect on experiences of identity, people, and place, and the interconnection of the past, present, in between, and beyond. Why WE Are Here is a culmination of Frierson’s engagement with and interrogation of material, color, texture, shape, and pattern as central motifs for their reflection of life’s connections.
Indelible ORIGINS | Place + People is supported by Hyde Park Art Center’s Artists Run Chicago Fund as part of Art Design Chicago.
