Poet Heid E. Erdrich shares selections from her powerful, award-winning works, often touching on personal, political, and cultural themes. Following the reading, artist Andrea Carlson—whose artwork, Exit, graces the cover of Erdrich’s Little Big Bully—joins Erdrich in conversation. Carlson’s work is on view at the MCA in Chicago Works | Andrea Carlson: Shimmer on Horizons.

Politics of Poetics is an event series that celebrates contemporary poets who navigate politics and activism through their art.
