homebody, a performance by SAGE DYE

September 1, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 7:30 pm

A photo of a seated woman sewing with text above and below that says, "September 1, Noon - Sunset, Homebody, a performance by Sage Dye."

In this performance presented in conjunction with Edra Soto’s installation La Casa de Todos, artist SAGE DYE installs a drying line inside the sculpture and hangs a series of garments partially submerged into containers with natural dyes created from edible plants, fruits, and vegetables. The garments, created from handmade linens and heirloom textiles collected from her Ohio community, absorb the dyes over the course of the day. With this work SAGE brings to light the ways home lives within our bodies and the objects we put in and on them. SAGE adds additional components to the dyes to shift their effects over time, and invites visitors to join her in enjoying and adding edible components to the dyes.
