“Let’s Talk About Art” is Hyde Park Art Center’s innovative hybrid learning program for older adults (65+). Participants explore visual and performing arts, collaborate with Chicago art organizations, and create their own art inspired by exhibits and performances.

As part of this special Art Design Chicago iteration of the program, this session explores the DePaul Art Museum’s exhibition Edgar Miller: Anti-Modern, 1917–1967, which showcases approximately 85 pieces across various media, highlighting Miller’s extensive career and collaborative works with contemporaries.

Running October 21 – 24, 2024 from 1-2pm daily, the agenda includes:

October 21 (via Zoom): Overview of DePaul Art Museum (DPAM) and its historical context.
October 22 (via Zoom): Discussion on the comprehensive retrospective of Edgar Miller’s work, situating it within Chicago’s socio-cultural history.
October 23 (in-person): Visit to the exhibition at DePaul Art Museum.
October 24 (in-person): Art-making session at Hyde Park Art Center inspired by the exhibition.
