Join the Museum of Contemporary Photography for a symposium exploring topics relating to their exhibition, Dawit L. Petros Prospetto a Mare. Sessions address the global legacies of Italian colonialism, the architectural imprint of colonial power at the Chicago World’s Fairs of 1893 and 1933–1934, and contemporary artists who take the history of colonialism and migration in Africa as a basis for their practices. Participating scholars include Lindsay Caplan, Teresa Fiore, Ruth Iyob, Cristina Lombardi-Diop, Onur Öztürk, Angelica Pesarini, Dawit L. Petros, and Linda Shrenck.
