Woven Being Community Room Drop-In

February 5, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Text reads: Woven Being and Art for Zhegagoynak / Chicagoland. There is a colorful circular design with gradient colors and geometric patterns. Text at the bottom says Community Room Drop-in. The background is a light beige color.
Jeffrey Gibson (Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians/Cherokee, born 1972), A Time for Change, 2020. Acrylic matte primer, screen print, and acrylic gloss varnish on handmade elk hide drum. Vanderbilt University Museum of Art.

The Block Museum’s Woven Being Community Room is a dedicated space for conversation, reflection, laughter, and relaxation within the exhibition, Woven Being: Art for Zhegagoynak/Chicagoland. It’s open during regular museum hours, and while it is designed to center the Indigenous community, it is open to all.

On the first Wednesday evening of each month, stop by for informal conversation and activities related to the themes of the exhibition. Drop-ins are welcome and encouraged.

On February 5, all are invited to get to know the Community Room and the Block team. Join them for informal conversation about the exhibition and the creation of the community room.

Learn more about March’s drop-in activities, here.

No RSVP necessary.
