“I believe there is a quest for craft from the imaginations of Black America that needs to be heard, seen, and felt as safe, desired, and beautiful. And it can only come from us,” — Norman Teague on WTTW
Recent media coverage of A Love Supreme, a solo exhibition by designer Norman Teague at Elmhurst Art Museum, includes a feature by Angel Idowu of WTTW and an interview by Vasia Rigou of Newcity. Idowu and Rigou immersed themselves in the exhibition, which is inspired by John Coltrain’s album of the same name. Rigou describes it as “an immersive experience that leaves the viewer inspired and curious about the intersection of music, design, and cultural heritage.”
“I think we will begin to see more democratic exhibitions, more collabs across cultures and a fair amount of exchange that might blur the lines of segregated communities. Art Design Chicago is a cultural exchange where people spend hours admiring and learning through the exhibits.” — Norman Teague in Newcity
