Reporting on November 2, 2023, at the Art Design Chicago announcement at the National Museum of Mexican Art, Angel Idowu of WTTW wrote “Art Design Chicago Showcases Local Artists, Arts Organizations With Citywide Events and Exhibitions,” a look at how the initiative supports local artists in their efforts to better understand their communities.
“One of those featured artists is Amira Hegazy… She initially came to the city for graduate school to study printmaking and now uses that medium to create relief prints and books. She also dabbles in typography, a practice that studies how words and letters are arranged and used in everyday life… Hegazy has been researching the impact of this practice, with help through the Terra Foundation. ” – WTTW NEWS
