“Chicago is a cultural hub…I do feel that Chicago is always culturally and artistically inspired and is really kind of disrupting the practices and patterns of art that happen nationally.” – Dr Pascal Ife Williams on WVON’s The Afternoon Show
On a recent broadcast of WVON’s The Afternoon Show, Atiba Karem Buchanan interviews Terra Foundation for American Art’s Senior Engagement Fellow Dr. Pascal Ife Williams and Hyde Park Art Center’s Public Program Manager Ciera McKissick about Art Design Chicago and upcoming spring exhibitions with their partners.
Dr. Pascal Ife Williams jump starts the conversation by explaining Art Design Chicago’s intention “to activate the creative community’s history and contemporary stories of art and design in Chicago.”
When asked about Hyde Park Art Center’s partnership with Art Design Chicago, McKissick states “We are really excited to be presenting two Terra funded exhibitions in conjunction with Art Design Chicago…The United Colors of Robert Earl Paige… and also “Fuller Circles”, our Alice Shaddle exhibition. We are excited about the things we have planned around these two exhibitions.”
Alice Shaddle: Fuller Circles is open March 23 through June 16, 2024.
The United Colors of Robert Earl Paige is open April 6 through October 27, 2024.
